Green Hands

A top-down task management simulator. Keep the hospital clean and use your germ-o-vision to spot invisible bio-hazards.

A four-person eight-week project involving full, professional adherence to Agile methodology

In order to maximise the amount of gameplay we could achieve from the tight development time, I created complex systems to procedurally generate challenges. The path that the patients take through the hospital and the way they make messes is random, yet immersive. Infectious patients may leave behind germs on surfaces they touch, which have a chance to infect further patients if they are not detected using "germ vision".

The generation of levels includes adjustable values such as number of patients and their 'messiness', which were fine-tuned via playtesting. An algorithm determines, according to which rooms are chosen to be explorable in a given level, which doors are to be locked or unlocked.

I highly recommend trying Green Hands for yourself. I'm quite proud of what we were able to achieve within the constraints we were given. Download link below.
