Isle of Ewe

A 3D platformer-puzzler where you explore a magical world and relocate sheep upon your head.

A tremendously large and beautiful world featuring three distinct and fully developed environments, each containing a unique set of gameplay challenges. Truth be told, we had no business taking on such an amazingly ambitious project, but we succeeded with flying colours!

This project found me in charge of version control (GIT) for a seven-person team and working on complex problems, some involving physics and 3D math.

 

As the lead programmer, I created many highly-robust, easy-to-use scripts for my team's designers and artists to efficiently implement a huge variety game encounters and events. Robustness was absolutely vital, and technical debt had to be kept to an absolute minimum.

I also spearheaded several of the core game mechanics, including the sheep stack, aiming & throwing, rescue pads.

I also assisted team members on writing their own code on many occasions, providing them with both basic knowledge of syntax & logic as well as performance & code quality advice.

Working on this game was really fulfilling, and I was extremely pleased with the result. I hope you will be too!
